i'm not racist, and i don't pretend my opinions count for much, but arabia (iraq, iran, syria, lebanon etc) seems to be the most uncivilised region in the world. This area was orginally the cradle of civilisation and great minds and antiquity. Maybe this is where we're all headed.
On a another but related rant. The whole Iraq thing is just one big hypocrisy (sp?) circle jerk. One sect dominates the other, then gets deposed and the next dominant sect does the same shit to the other. If I was bought up in Iraq I would probably be the same. I my convoluted rant here, what I'm saying is USA's involvement has not helped anything. Sure they've deposed a dictator and are attempting to force democracy to take root, but from my standpoint it doesn't seem they are even trying to win the hearts and minds of the people that really matter. I just think it's funny that the bullets come down and kill their own ppl and they still don't give a fuck about firing their weapons into the air. Seriously, wouldn't a heart cheer suffice? Would it not be prudent to save that ammo for, you know, ppl you DON'T like?
Apparently a lot of the guns in the country were supplied by the CIA when they were afraid of communism taking hold. One wonders what it might have been like had communism actually been given a chance there, as opposed to murderous dictatorship. Sure US, that's MUCH better than a system that has even more equality than democracy and favors stringent application of civic pluralism (if it works).
